Some like to call themselves Graphic Artists. At LA Designs, we are not creating art for art's sake. Everything we design has a specific purpose in mind. Something that's just eye catching isn't going to increase our customers' profits and pretty brochures don't help them pay their staff.

Although our Art Director, Linda Laforge, is also an artist, she tells us, "I am a designer at work."

Graphic design is complex and multi-faceted process.

Graphic design is a form of communication using visual information to convey a message. It's used to convey a specific and persuasive message to a large audience. Graphic design often incorporates typography, page layout, image development, and branding, but it is not limited to these elements.

Like many forms of communication, graphic design often refers to both the process by which the communication is created, and the final form that it takes.

Graphic design is used in Print Design, as in magazine & newspaper layout, posters, corporate logo/letterhead/business card design, book & album cover design, package/label design. Interactive or Motion Design is also considered Graphic Design and is used in web page layout, web animation, film and video title design as well as software interface design.
